About Scottsdale, AZ

From luxurious spas to legendary golf, Scottsdale combines sophisticated attractions with a fascinating desert landscape. Located in the Sonoran Desert, one of the most biologically diverse deserts in the Americas, the "West's most Western town" is known for its casual, affluent ambience where award-winning dining and stylish shopping mix comfortably with back-country jeep touring, horseback riding, mountain hiking and biking, and rock climbing.

The desert has long inspired artists of all genres, so it's only natural that Scottsdale is home to many art galleries. You'll find 100 galleries alone, many featuring native art, while wandering through Old Town Scottsdale. You can also experience Indian art and culture at the Heard Museum, Frank Lloyd Wright's vision at Taliesin West, and the latest views in the art world at the Scottsdale Museum of Contemporary Art. The city's extensive events calendar ranges from the PGA Tour's FBR Open to the Scottsdale Culinary Festival, the longest running event of its kind in the U.S. Other signature events include the Scottsdale Arabian Horse Show, the world's largest, and the Scottsdale Arts Festival, which has been attracting art fans since 1960.

Named among the top golf destinations in the world, Scottsdale claims many winning layouts, like We-Ko-Pa, The Boulders and Grayhawk, among its 100-plus golf courses. But there are plenty of other ways to play in this sun-drenched city, from hot air ballooning over the desert to upscale shopping at Kierland Commons and Scottsdale Fashion Square. However you spend your day, a visit to one of the area's indulgent spas is the perfect conclusion.
